38-week Belly Pic + My Birthday

I turn 29 today.  It kind of doesn't seem like reality that I'm almost 30 and have almost two kids and will most likely soon be driving a mini-van.  I don't know quite what age I feel, but sometimes I look at Avery and think, "You are mine?  Like, completely my (and your dad's) responsibility?"  Someone tell me this is normal!

But, the fact remains, I am officially 29 years old.

Baby girl is still perfectly happy hanging out in my tummy.  (The following picture is NOT photoshopped or editied in any way; my belly really is that big):

Anyway, started the day with a coffee date at Starbucks with these two characters...
...then had lunch (and Woulett's cupcakes!) and went shopping downtown St. Paul with these very goofy characters (and Nealy):
This evening we will go out to eat - restaurant TBD.  What a good day!  I think the only thing that could make it better would be getting to meet the baby tonight!!  It doesn't hurt to hope, does it?

Birthday Party Round Two and Easter Pics

Last weekend we celebrated Easter with Matt's family in Cedar Rapids.  Part of the weekend celebration included another birthday party for Avery Sue! She's quite happy about it--can you tell??

The cupcakes were a hit, of course.

She now is keenly aware of the meaning (and shape, color, and size) of presents.  This is her "hurry mommy I want to open my presents" face.  It was so sweet of everyone to plan another bday party for her.  I'm going to try to save some of her presents to put in my nursing basket.
The little girls enjoyed an Easter egg hunt after church.  They are so goofy.

You know you had a good time at Grandma's house when you pass out in your carseat on the way home!

Avery's First Birthday

It was a magical day; to have my immediate family and Matt's immediate family together, doting on Avery all at once, was wonderful.  Our theme was "Oh the Places You'll Go."  We had food from all the places Avery has been - clam chowder from Seattle, cowboy salsa from Mexico, jerk chicken from Jamaica, and last but not least, sliders from Clear Lake.  My friend Leah made the invitations, water bottle holders, and other decor; she did a fantastic job!

Thanks to my brother in law, Mike, for taking these pictures!  For more pictures, you can also view my sister's blog post.
