Words

Avery is quite the talker lately.  Here are her top three words as of late.

3.  "Uh-oh" was one of her first real words, after mama, dada, and Cici. :) She definitely knows when to use it.  For example, this morning after she woke up, we walked into the living room to read a few books.  She right away noticed that one of the books was not in the basket--it was on the floor.  "Uh-oh!"  Then, not two minutes later, she was saying "uh-oh" that one of the rubber duckies in our counting book had a number written on it.  This afternoon she ripped the flap off of a book and said it again.

2.  We probably hear Avery say "yeah" at least 100 times a day, minimum.  Many people ask if she even knows how to say "no," and surprisingly she does, but usually only in response to questions like, "Do you like vacuums?".  Her "yeahs" can be two syllables, ye-ah, if she's being shy, or they can be shouted with enthusiasm in answers to questions such as "Avery, do you want a snack?"

1.  Her new favorite word/phrase is "uh-daa," "ma-daa," or "uh-ba-daa," emphasis on the "daaa."  It means, "I want that."  She's known to repeat this one 3, 4, 5, or more times in a row until you give it to her. :)

Kind of a funny story--we were at Avery's 15 month checkup, and the doctor asked what words she's saying.  I listed as many as I could think of, but I couldn't think of all of them so I just listed a few, but forgot to mention "yeah" and "uh-oh."  The doctor said, "So, you'd say she says at least 8 words?"  I said yes.  The doctor proceeded to ask Avery, "Avery, you're quite the talker, aren't you?"  "YEAH" she said. :)  Right then Avery then dropped her toy and said, "UH-OH!"  The doctor was quite impressed, as are we with her increasing vocabulary!!
